Apple Initiates iPhone 14 Plus Service Program for Rear Camera Malfunction: What You Need to Know

Apple has introduced a new service program for iPhone 14 Plus devices sold between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, addressing a significant issue where affected units fail to display a rear camera preview. Fortunately, this problem impacts only a "very small percentage" of these devices.

It's important to note that this service program is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Plus; other models, including the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max, are not affected. To determine if your device falls within the impacted range, visit the Apple iPhone 14 Plus Service Program page and enter your phone's serial number.

The service program offers coverage for three years from the original purchase date, allowing Apple to repair the issue free of charge, provided there is no additional damage to the device. If you have previously paid for repairs related to this issue, you may be eligible for a refund, but this typically applies only to services conducted by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

If your iPhone 14 Plus meets the program criteria, Apple will verify your eligibility for service. After verification, you can choose from several options for repair: locating an Apple Authorized Service Provider, making an appointment at an Apple Store, or contacting Apple Support to arrange mail-in service.
